There’s never a bad time to catch up on hydration, but why stick to plain ice water when you can try a whole range of refreshing flavors? I’m bringing you this recipe fresh from my garden as our apple mint plant inspires most of my refresher recipes.
This drink was perfect for surviving another day in a heat wave and even helped use up some cherries before they spoil soon. If you’re looking for new fresh flavors, try my Black Raspberry & Lemon Refresher too!

Ingredients:
For every 2 cups of water,
- 6-8 Cherries
- 4-5 Apple mint leaves
- 1 Sprig spearmint
- Juice from 1/2 lime
First, wash your hands after picking fresh mint for your drink. Simply rub the apple mint and spearmint leaves before stirring them into your water. Next, squeeze the cherries over your drink and gently roll them between your fingers to loosen the pit. Drop the pit in another dish for disposal and squeeze the cherry a bit more until it becomes too fragile to handle.
I like to eat my cherries after I’m done squeezing them since the pit is already out and there’s nothing to lose. Consider it a bonus snack along with your refreshment. Once you’ve squeezed all your cherries, do the same to half of a lime and give it a stir before you enjoy your drink!
